Just well-built hiveware designed for beekeepers who take their work seriously.

Langstroth remains the most popular hive-style in the United States and much of the world. Developed by Lorenzo Langstroth in 1851, it utilizes removable frames based on "bee space" (3/8 inch), which prevents bees from sealing combs, allowing for easy inspection and high honey production.

With deeper frames and thicker walls than the Langstroth, the Layens hive is becoming a popular niche in the Hoosier beekeeping community. Developed by Georges de Layens, it's a horizontal hive that allows bees to live in a way that closely mimics their natural habitat. Unlike the more common vertical hives, Layens hives are designed with deep frames that accommodate the bees' natural tendency to build comb downwards.

The beautiful Warre hive (or "People's Hive") is a, simple, low-maintenance vertical top-bar beehive designed by French priest Émile Warré to be more bee-friendly and economical.
